The Art Installation
Not mine anymore
The textile installation “Not mine anymore” explores the physical and emotional transformation of a woman’s breasts in early motherhood. Created from nylon, twine, clothespins, and cast pacifiers, the piece forms a circle: a communal shape that evokes the shared, often unspoken experience of mothers. The breasts appear swollen, stretched, and deflated. Once symbols of pride and sensuality, they become sources of milk, no longer belonging to the woman herself.
Breastfeeding turns the body into a vessel: tender, aching, responsive. This piece reflects the emotional rollercoaster of nursing: pain, exhaustion, joy, love, fear, and an overwhelming sense of wonder.
