Five Days Before
A Visual Meditation
The series, titled “Five Days Before: A Visual Meditation“ captures the raw and layered emotions of the final days of pregnancy. Each of the five pieces represents a single day, beginning with an ink print of my belly—a physical mark of the moment—and is surrounded by flowing, organic forms painted in translucent layers of watercolor. The imagery unfolds as a mixture of abstract and symbolic elements: roots, leaves, and eyes intertwine with amorphous shapes, creating a labyrinth of thoughts and feelings.
These days were filled with a complex mix of anticipation and fear. The longing to finally meet my child coexisted with the physical and emotional exhaustion of carrying a new life.
The yearning to regain the comfort of my own body clashed with the fear of childbirth—the sudden onset of labor, the possibility of complications, and the uncertainty of the hospital stay. Each mark, stroke, and layer of paint became a form of meditation, allowing me to release my anxieties and channel my inner turmoil onto paper.
This process was not about crafting polished, visually perfect images but about embracing the act of creation as therapy. Through these intricate patterns and textures, I gave shape to my thoughts, fears, and hopes, weaving them into a visual diary of one of the most transformative times in my life.

This artwork is the part of my big project "Fragile Beginnings". All project here
