The Art Installation
Marked by Motherhood
The installation “Marked by Motherhood” confronts the physical cost of motherhood—a reality often hidden from view. A plastic hemisphere, covered with photographs of postpartum bellies, represents the irreversible transformation of a woman's body after childbirth. Loose skin, scars, and stretch marks become permanent reminders of pregnancy.
No mother knows in advance whether she will regain her former body or bear these marks for life. This piece reflects the emotional weight of this uncertainty—the silent price women pay for the invaluable gift of life.
