The Art Installation
Mother’s Mindset
The installation “Mother’s Mindset” explores the overwhelming mental burden of new motherhood. The papier-mâché head, with its open skull, reveals a mind consumed by endless thoughts—words representing care, love, exhaustion, anxiety, and sacrifice. The severed top of the head, hanging by a rope like a sinking weight, symbolizes how these thoughts never rest, pulling the mother down.
This piece reflects the mental load mothers carry, the emotional toll of constant responsibility, and the fragility of the early days of parenthood. Part of Fragile Beginnings, it highlights the unseen struggles behind the idealized image of motherhood.
