The Art Installation
The Weight of Love
This installation "The Weight of Love", takes the form of a large inflatable rubber sphere, imprinted with handprints, symbolizing the overwhelming yet cherished experience of late pregnancy. The immense size and weight mimic the physical reality a woman faces in the final month: an unbalanced, cumbersome body that tests her endurance. Movements become awkward, her back and joints ache, and even rising from bed feels insurmountable. Yet, despite the discomfort and pain, this "burden" is held with tenderness and love. The mother instinctively touches, soothes, and connects with her belly—an embodiment of life she carries within.
Through the interplay of struggle and affection, The Weight of Love captures the duality of this profound moment: the longing for relief coexists with the deep attachment to the unborn child.
